Hi there,
I'm Ashley.

I'm the designer, speaker, and teacher behind Henhouse Design

I'm Ashley Morgan (formerly Bennett), and Henhouse Design Co. is the online home for my work and thoughts. After graduating in 2011 from UNC-Chapel Hill (go heels!), I began working as a full time designer for NMC. There, I create custom websites, mobile apps, and brands for universities, non-profits, political campaigns, law firms, and businesses of all sizes. 

I'm currently living and working in Charlotte, NC. I teach pop-up classes on branding and Adobe Illustrator, co-organize a monthly web design meetup, and help run the quarterly web conference, FusionConf. 

When I’m not designing, you'll find me exploring the neighborhood with my husband by bike, working out in my garden, playing with my two Italian Greyhounds, Bella and Miley, or tending to my growing flock of chickens.

  • 2016-Present Co-organizer of CLT Design, a free monthly meetup that exposes Charlotte designers to speakers and workshops on web design

  • 2015-2016 Founder of Dine & Draw CLT, a monthly meetup for creatives and foodies to gather,sketch, and learn new drawing skills in local restaurants.
  • 2015 Wrote tutorial on designing with Sketch for Smashing Magazine
  • 2015 Tech editor for Designing for iOS with Sketch by Sian Morrison.
  • 2013 Volunteer for Teen Tech Camp, a one-day summer camp teaching kids aged 13-18 development and design skills.
